Because of your experience as a malpractice attorney, and for many of you in States with caps on damages, you already understand that not all malpractice cases are created equal. But each file in your office represents individuals and their families, and you want to provide them with assistance in answering their questions and concerns and need to do so with a limited time and cost investment. We can help you get questions answered in a cost efficient and timely way. Many times records are voluminous and deadlines are looming.
The first call that you need to make is to Saponaro, Incorporated. We have over 40 years of experience in assisting attorneys on the smallest, and biggest, cases in their office, and everything in between, and we have designed a service that can meet the needs of every case in your office.
Here are your service options, depending on the case you need to address:
MD Hotline
Send us a detailed overview of your case, along with your specific questions and concerns, and we will have two actively-practicing, board-certified physicians, in the specialty of concern, respond to the facts of the case, and to your questions, in order to help you determine if a formal review of the records is required. We will email you the physician’s response, and opinions, within two weeks of receipt of the overview and payment.
Additionally, these physicians are available to assist you as an expert witness, and support these opinions through deposition and/or trial, if the complete review of records confirms their original opinions.
We charge $400.00 to provide you with this service, and we recommend the MD Hotline for cases that are straight-forward with the details and concerns, and will get you the answers you need and keep your initial costs as low as possible.
Preliminary Case Evaluation
Send us a copy of the pertinent medical records, in chronological order, along with an overview of the case and any specific questions or concerns, and we will have an actively practicing and board-certified physician, with expertise in medical-legal medicine, review the case for merit and damages, as well as recommend the specialists that will be required if the case is worth pursuing.
This analysis will cover all potential deviations from the accepted standards of care, as well as explain any damages that can be specifically related to the potential deviations, and is presented as a forensic report.
We charge a base fee of $700.00 to provide you with this service, and we recommend the Preliminary Case Evaluation for files that seem to initially have issues with negligence or damages, but you need to provide your client with an in-depth analysis, a forensic report, and the assurance that the case has been reviewed by a specialist.
Comprehensive Case Evaluation
Send us a copy of the pertinent medical records, in chronological order, along with an overview of the case, and any specific questions or concerns, and we will have an actively practicing and board-certified physician, in the specialty of concern, or an appropriate healthcare professional, review the case for specific standard of care violations or damages, and provide a qualified opinion on whether or not the case should be pursued.
A forensic report will be provided to thoroughly explain the merits of the case, with the understanding that the physician, or healthcare professional, that holds the opinions contained in our report, is prepared to support their opinions through deposition and/or trial.
We charge a base fee of $900.00 to provide you with this service, and we recommend the Comprehensive Case Evaluation for files that need the opinion of a specialist, in the field of concern, who knows the standard of care required in the medical or surgical management of your client, because they practice it on a daily basis, and have the qualifications to render an accurate opinion and the credibility to support their opinion as an expert witness.
Nurse Review
Send us a copy of the pertinent medical records, in chronological order, along with a brief overview of the case, and we will have a Nurse prepare a detailed chronology of the records, which will provide a dated outline of the care rendered to your client; the type of specialist who was involved in the care; and provide a recommendation of the type of experts you will require to review the case for merit and damages.
We charge based on the number of medical records you have, and we recommend the Nurse Review for files that have very voluminous records, and you want a document that you can provide to your expert witness, which will allow them to understand the basic concerns of the case, without charging you by the hour to review all the documents. It will be necessary to include a complete set of records when you send your case to the expert witness, but the chronology we provide will allow the expert witness to cut through the waste and evaluate the pertinent records needed to render an opinion, within a reasonable time period.
Every day you are faced with the challenge of how to spend your time and money, and you have several different cases, all at different priority when it comes to the facts of the matter, but all carrying a high significance because of the clients who are involved with the case, and feel that their situation is the most important thing effecting their life, at that time, and want you to feel the same way.
